Charles Maynard joined the University of Washington in 1975, when he started in the MSW program. His primary research interests are cardiovascular health services research and administrative databases, with particular interest in Department of Veterans Affairs databases.

Advanced Health Services Research Methods III

This project on quality-based financial incentives for physician group practices takes advantage of a regional natural experiment in paying for quality in Washington State during a 5-year period.

The Clinical Outcomes Assessment Project is a quality improvement effort for cardiovascular revascularization procedures performed in Washington State.

The overall goal of this study is to determine whether initiating hypothermia in cardiac arrest patients in the field is associated with an increase in the proportion of patients who survive hospital discharge.

This study will provide national estimates of the inpatient health care utilization and costs attributed to hospitalizations with illicit drug use and soft tissue infection diagnoses, as a proxy for injection drug use-related soft tissue infections.
