Bachelor of Arts Degree
Undergraduate Advising
Major
Any student at the University of Washington
is welcome to take courses in the Department of Scandinavian Studies.
We
offer a wide range
of courses for the student with an occasional interest as well
as the student who wishes to major or minor in a Scandinavian topic.
The Department offers courses leading to a B.A. degree in Danish,
Norwegian, Swedish and Scandinavian Area Studies.
For a degree
in
all of these majors, at least 65 credits - of which 35 must be
upper division courses - must be earned. Many students in the Department
earn double majors in which they combine a Scandinavian major with
a second major in such fields as Political Science, History, Communications,
Business Administration, English, International Studies, or Germanics,
among others. This is possible without exceeding the minimum number
of credits for graduation—180 quarter credits.
