Friday Welcome Reception

Burke Museum

FRIDAY NIGHT

The Welcome Reception will take place at the Burke Museum of Natural History on the UW campus.  Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.  We will have access to view all exhibits and, weather permitting, may enjoy a nice summer evening on the outdoor patio.  The reception is included in the registration fee for all participants and registered guests.

The Burke Museum is the State museum of natural

and cultural history, and the only major natural history

museum in the Northwest United States.  It's a treasure

trove of natural and artistic wonders from the Pacific

Northwest and the Pacific Rim.  Collection highlights

include towering totem poles and huge, hand carved

cedar canoes; the region's only dinosaur skeleton;

beautiful gems and minerals; fascinating fossils; birds,

beetles, and butterflies.
