The University of Washington is nationally recognized for the quality of its graduate training programs in health-related fields.

The U.S. News and World Report published the following recent rankings of America's Best Graduate Schools:

  • The School of Medicine was ranked first in training primary health care providers (2004), family medicine (2003), and rural health medicine (2003).
  • The School of Nursing ranked first among masters-level nursing programs (2003).
  • The School of Social Work was one of three ranked third (2000).
  • The UW ranked 11th (2004) for medical research funding among private and public universities, ensuring a rich research environment for trainees and faculty.

These rankings reflect the faculty, material resources and facilities, and graduate training experiences available to trainees.
