ABOUT THE AIA SEATTLE SOCIETY

The AIA Seattle Society is an affiliated society of the Archaeological Institute of America, North America's oldest and largest organization devoted to promoting archaeological inquiry and preserving the world's archaeological resources. Established in 1956, the Seattle Society serves both professional archaeologists and interested members of the Seattle area public. In cooperation with the Department of Classics at the University of Washington, the Seattle Society co-sponsors an annual lecture series that introduces audiences to the latest archaeological research and discoveries. Lectures, which are free and open to the public, are supported in part by the annual dues paid by Seattle Society members. RIDGWAY LECTURE

Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, the Seattle Society of the AIA is privileged to have its own endowed lectureship, established in 1992 in honor of and inaugurated by Professor Brunilde S. Ridgway of Bryn Mawr College. The lectureship allows the society to invite a speaker of its choice each year. Click HERE for a list of Ridgway Lectures.
