November 2012: Successful research trip to the Amazon River

Our group made its third research trip in as many years to the tidal Amazon River, working with colleagues from the Universidade Federal do Para. We collected water-column and sea-bed data to investigate the sedimentary dynamics of the lower Amazon and its tributaries.

April 2012 Elwha Research Cruise

The Sediment Dynamics Group completed another successful research cruise aboard the R/V Clifford A. Barnes on April 2-6, 2012. We successfully deployed a second instrumented tripod and retrieved the first tripod for downloading, replacing batteries, and redeployment later in the month. Check out this new time-lapse video of the cruise, with much better quality than the first attempt.
