Scholarships for Scholars Update

After thirteen fabulous years, Scholarships for Scholars is taking a sabbatical.  With your belief and support, this unique open house and fundraiser has provided $300,000 in scholarships to 53 graduate students in Ceramics before the creation of 3D4M: ceramics/glass/sculpture in 2008.  Scholarships for our graduate students remains one of our critical priorities, and despite the absence of our raffle and silent auction, we would still welcome your tax-deductible donations.

Fall quarter was unusually busy with Amie McNeel and Mark Zirpel absorbed in their tenure reviews and other faculty having exhibitions in Switzerland, France and Italy.  This is also a time of transition as Akio Takamori announced his retirement and Jamie Walker will be starting full time administrative duties effective at the end of the school year.

Our second year grads, Hesheng Chen, Rebecca Chernow and Andrew Hoeppner, are beginning to define their theses and the new grads, Tim Coleman, Katherine Groesbeck, Morgan Mangiaruga and Jon Paden are settling into their studios and related coursework.  We are looking forward to the 3D4M 1st Year Graduate Exhibition Opening on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 and extend an early invitation for you to join us once again.

Happy New Year!

Doug Jeck, Amie McNeel, Akio Takamori, Jamie Walker, and Mark Zirpel
