Research Translation

The Research Translation and Outreach Core focuses on the following areas to support the University of Washington Superfun Research Program. (UW-SRP):

• communicating with government agencies regarding scientific issues of relevance to the Superfund process
• assisting investigators in 'technology transfer', the process of moving research findings and products into useful application
• increasing communication avenues between the investigators and health professionals, disease advocacy groups, government agency staff, and the general public
• working directly with community groups assoicated with hazardous waste sites and supporting the Northwest Toxic Communities Coaltion, active in EPA Region 10
  

All of these activities help the UW-SRP meet its goal to broadly disseminate emerging research findings and to apply the current research outcomes to improve public health.
