Zackery Lystedt, whose brain injury inspired Washington’s first-in-the-nation concussion law, will join Dr. Stan Herring from the UW Medicine Sports Health and Safety Institute and Richard Adler, whose advocacy led to the law’s implementation.

Exercise is Medicine on Campus (EIM-OC) calls upon universities and colleges to engage in the promotion of physical activity to improve the health and well-being of the campus community. An online toolkit explains the details of EIM-OC Month, including its recognition program, which highlights the steps individuals are taking to lead their campuses and communities to become healthier through increased levels of physical activity and incorporating physical activity into healthcare.

5th International Consensus Conference on Concussion in Sport

October 27-28, 2016. Berlin, Germany

Every four years, this conference brings together world-leading scientists and clinical experts to review the latest scientific evidence on sport concussion and to develop a statement that provides clinicians with a practical summary of current knowledge. Stanley Herring, M.D., Director of the University of Washington’s Sports Health and Safety Institute, and Richard Ellenbogen, M.D., a UW professor and chair of the Department of Neurosurgery, will be among the coauthors.
