This material was collected by Aurel Stein at Shorchuk (Ming-oi), a site near Korla on the "Northern Silk Road," about 300 km. southwest of Urumqi in Xinjiang. The objects are displayed in Gallery 33. There is also material from Shorchuk on display in the Museum of Indian Art, Berlin.
