Monty McGovern

Monty McGovern is Professor of Mathematics at the UW. Although he was interested in astronomy at an early age, he came to realize that his skills were better suited to theoretical work and he shifted his focus to mathematics. When not teaching or doing research he can often be found singing or playing piano or handbells. After graduate school at MIT and brief stints on both coasts, he came to the UW in 1990 and has been here ever since.
