Kenny Ascher is currently an instructor and NSF postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University. He earned his B.S. in math at Stony Brook University, and completed his PhD in 2017 at Brown University. His research interests are in algebraic geometry as well as its connections with number theory.
As a graduate student he spent many years working on outreach endeavors. He was founding member of the Math CoOp at Brown University, an organization which discusses, creates, and delivers mathematics presentations to K-12 students in the New England area, and advised a group of three undergraduates at a Yale Math REU in Summer 2017. He gave his first special lecture at SIMUW in 2018 and is thrilled to be back.
