Prizes

Each year at our departmental Convocation ceremony the Slavic Department awards several different prizes:

Slavic Excellence Prizes
These prizes are awarded for the best paper written by an undergraduate student and the best paper written by a graduate student. If you wrote a paper within the past year (SPR 2012-WIN 2013) for a Slavic Department course for which you received a grade of 3.9 or better, you are encouraged to apply for this prize, which will be awarded during the Slavic Department’s Convocation Ceremony on June 14, 2013. Submissions to slavicll@uw.edu must be received by 5:00 p.m. on April 12, 2013 and should include a copy of your paper together with a cover sheet with your name, address, email, instructor’s name and the title of the course for which you wrote the paper.

Outstanding Undergraduate Student
This prize is awarded for academic excellence and service to the department.

Outstanding Graduate Student
This prize is awarded for academic excellence and service to the department.

Best Polish Student Award
This prize is awarded annually during the Slavic Department’s Convocation Ceremony by the Polish Ladies Auxiliary to that year’s best Polish student.
