Cell Sorting Policies
The SLU Flow Facility cell sorting room is approved for work at Biosafety Level 1 and 2 (BSL-1/BSL-2). It is important for users to determine the classification of their samples as this will determine the pre-sort procedures.
Please use the attached Biosafety Table to determine the required paperwork and procedures.
Exempt BSL-1 Sorting
- Follow the procedures outlined in the Scheduling Calendar section to sign-up
BSL-1
- Contact the UW EH&S Research and Biological Safety Office (RBSO) to get an updated approval letter with approval to sort in SLU S562. Documentation of BUA must be in place with the SLU Flow Facility before users are permitted to sort. Each BUA includes information on cell lines and infectious agents used by each laboratory, their level of appropriate level of containment, and sites at which they can be used.
- Follow the procedures outlined in the Scheduling Calendar section to sign-up
- Follow the entire procedures outline in the Biosafety Table regarding BSL-1 samples
