Our Oceans, Our Future: February 15, 2012 - A Human Dimensions of the Environment Event

“Our Oceans, Our Future” – a public symposium sponsored by the University of Washington’s School of Marine and Environmental Affairs on February 15, 2012!

“Our Oceans, Our Future” explored diverse perspectives regarding interactions between humans and the oceans. The event included presentations on innovative new ocean research linking social and ecological systems, panel discussions, and breakout discussions sessions. Topics ranged from improving marine protected areas and fisheries management to sustaining Puget Sound to reforming academic institutions in response to environmental challenges. The symposium was followed by a public reception.
