SMEA Alumna's Work with Derelict Vessels Makes Front Page of Seattle Times
SMEA alumna Melissa Ferris made the front page of The Seattle Times on Sunday, September 9, 2012 in connection with her work managing Washington State's Derelict Vessel Removal Program. The feature story demonstrates the tough decisions marine affairs pratitioners have to make every day while working on complicated environmental issues - which problem do you solve and how do you solve it within the complex web of public policy, economics, and human behavior? Ms. Ferris will be speaking this fall in the SMEA 500 lecture series class to students about her work.
