Environmental Restoration & Jobs

SMEA graduate student Joe Inslee, who also works as a Policy/Outreach Analyst with NOAA's Assessment and Restoration Division, is blogging for NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration. His latest post is about how environmental restoration projects benefit not just wildlife, but also the economy since they create jobs and stimulate tourism to what used to be inhospitable, tainted environments. He last blogged for OR&R about his trip to Kotzebue, Alaska, to participate in community planning for oil spill response and natural resource restoration, a trip he made after taking SMEA 514, "Marine Pollution Management and Policy" in Autumn Quarter 2012. Read more about that class and the resulting trip here.
