Parrish Presents at White House on Citizen Science

SMEA Adjunct Professor and College of the Environment Associate Dean Julia Parrish was invited to the White House in June 2013 as one of 12 "Champions of Change."  She spoke about a citizen science program she founded in 1991, The Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (COASST), and how it has contributed to scientists' understanding of what is normal and what is changing along the Pacific Coast by counting sea bird carcasses.
