SMEA Wins $21,000 Grant to Improve Student Technology

Students in the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs (SMEA) will soon see a brand new computer lab thanks to a $21,000 Student Technology Fee (STF) grant.  The school was awarded the funds to improve student access to technology.  The lab will include 12 workstations with dual, rotating monitors to enable students to read full-text articles in portrait mode on one screen, while taking notes on another.  In addition, the lab will include a new scanner and the latest software to ensure students are able to analyze data by nearly any means.  Students, faculty and staff of SMEA all aided in receiving this grant by submitting letters of endorsement justifying students' needs.
