The Coastal Society

The Coastal Society

Welcome to the University of Washington Chapter of The Coastal Society!

The Coastal Society (TCS) is an organization of private sector, academic, and government professionals and students dedicated to actively addressing emerging coastal issues by fostering dialogue, forging partnerships, and promoting communication and education (TCS Mission).  The University of Washington chapter of TCS is committed to furthering this work and is run entirely by students.  The chapter engages in several projects and events throughout the year.  These include professional development workshops, environmental service activities, and our quarterly Blue Drinks events where we invite members of the UW and professional communities to network, with occasional speakers to spark conversation.  In addition the UW chapter engages with the seven other student chapters at universities across the country to facilitate community and exchange ideas.

The UW student chapter of TCS is open to graduate student members of the UW community with an interest in coastal issues and professions.  Membership benefits include access to an excellent job listserv focused on ocean and coastal opportunities, and being a part of a great professional community.  For more information please contact this year's TCSUW officers.  Professional conferences are biennial and rotate between The Coastal Society and Coastal Zone.

Interested persons may become a member of the National Chapter by completing this form.
