| Description |
All items scored as 0 (incorrect) or 1 (correct):
1. Sentence combining: say 2 sentences, child puts together as
1.
2. Picture vocabulary: child hears phrase (ex: "monkey see")
and picks picture that best fits.
3. Word ordering: child hears words in random order and has to
form a sentence with them.
4. Generals: child hears list of words and has to say how they
are related (ex: "red, brown, green")
5. Grammatic comprehension: child hears sentence and judges it
as correct or not.
6. Malapropisms: child hears sentence with 1 wrong word and has
to say what word should have been used (ex: "Mary had a little
ham" - child says "lamb").

Test-retest: Coefficients for all subtests exceed .80, for composites
all are .90 or greater (correlation coefficients).
Inter-relater reliability: Coefficients for all subtests are .94
or greater (correlation coefficients).

Content: for discrimination: .28-.68 (depending on age and subtest)
and .38-.8 for difficulty (depending on age and subtest) (point-biserial
correlations of .20 or greater are viewed as strong)

Construct: across age discrimination: .32-.47 (depending on subtest)
across group discrimination (speech-language problems, learning
disabled, mental retardation, ADD/ADHD, hearing impaired): found
