Welcome to the Soft Matter and Microfluidics Lab, directed by Professor Amy Shen. Our research program concerns complex fluids and the processing of these fascinating materials by microfluidics to create morphologies and structures that can find application in the nanotechnology, biotechnology microelectronics, and energy related topics. In particular, our research focuses on digital microfluidics, droplet microfluidics, rheology and self assembly systems to design novel materials (nano- and bio-materials), and drug delivery systems. Our research projects have been interdisciplinary and collaborative in nature, involving both experiments and computations.
