Tools to Engage Students in Honoring Intellectual PropertyDavid Masuda (School of Medicine) The Internet is undoubtedly a valuable research tool for students and faculty, yet the ease of capturing information from the internet increases confusion over concepts such as intellectual property, copyright, citation practices and the like. In this technology demonstration we will explore the use of commercial and open-source services not as "plagiarism detection tools" but rather as learning resources enabling students to better understand and maintain scholarly standards. |
