Guidelines for Presenters

Poster sessions are a common feature of academic conferences in a wide range of disciplines, and many people find them an engaging way to present and interact with others about their work. Here is a set of guidelines we have developed for presenters at this year's Symposium:

Poster Presentation Resources

At the UW Teaching and Learning Symposium, we ask presenters to display the central topics or questions you’ve been examining, observations or conclusions you have been able to draw so far, and further questions you hope to explore.  The information on your poster will then be a basis for further discussion as people attending the Symposium stop to talk with you about your work.

You may find the following guidelines helpful in planning and preparing your poster:

  • Basics of Poster Design
An overview on poster elements: Getting started, Mastering the basics, Creating design unity, Additional resources, Poster checklist, and a Poster Gallery
