The Master in Teaching (M.I.T.) Program

The Master in Teaching (MIT)  is a degree offered through the Teacher Education Program in the College of Education, which leads to elementary or secondary school teaching. Students in the secondary school program are endorsed by Washington State for specific subjects, and therefore must meet state endorsement competencies.  Until recently, a  Spanish language endorsement at the secondary level was available through this program.  However, due to budget restrictions, the College of Education has suspended the World Language endorsement program for the 2012-2013 academic year.  More information can be found on the College of Education website here:  http://education.washington.edu/areas/tep/pathways/endorsements.html

Questions should be directed to the College of Education’s Office of Student Services at edinfo@uw.edu or 206-543-7834.  For a list of other institutions in the State of Washington that offer World Languages endorsements, visit https://sites.google.com/a/pesb.wa.gov/future-teachers/programs.
