
LEADERSHIP
The SPARX program is housed in the School of Medicine’s WWAMI Area Health Education Center’s Program Office. Funding for the SPARX program comes in part from the annual Model AHEC grant and the Dean’s Office of the School of Medicine. Donations for SPARX activities come in the form of clothing, supplies and sponsorship to conferences.
Members in the SPARX/AHEC
program office include:
Principle Investigator. Provides overall leadership and policy guidelines.
Assistant Director.
Responsible for management and coordination of the AHEC Program, preparation
of grant applications and progress reports. Provides overall leadership and
policy guidance for the SPARX Program.
Program Manager. Offers main oversight to the SPARX Program.
Focuses on organization of student activity, organizes steering committee
meetings, supervises student activities and responsible for identification
and development of new projects.
Medical Educator.
Assists Program Manager in supervision and development of SPARX activities.
Program Coordinator. Assists with the management and coordination
of the WWAMI AHEC program in the region. Provides administrative assistance
with grant writing.
SPARX
reports to the WWAMI Area Health Education Center’s Advisory Board consisting
of representatives from the Schools of Health Science, and the Western Washington
Area Health Education Center. The group is responsible for promoting SPARX
activities within their schools by forwarding emails out to students to advertise
SPARX
activities and posting flyers.
Individual
projects within the SPARX program may also have
an additional advisory board.
