The Department of Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Washington offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences through the College of Arts and Sciences.
This academic program encompasses the study of human communication and its disorders across the life span and the study of clinical processes used to assess and treat communication disorders.
This degree program is appropriate if you are interested in pursuing graduate study in speech, language or hearing science research or a clinical career in speech-language pathology or audiology. It is also appropriate for students with interests in teaching, neuroscience, physiology, basic science, health care, linguistics, education, or psychology.
It is the student's responsibility to ensure that all university and department requirements are completed for the Speech and Hearing Sciences major. Thus, all interested students and accepted majors are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment with our Undergraduate Advisor.
Speech and Hearing Sciences is not available as a minor.
