Clinical Rotations Seattle is a regional medical center, serving patients from a four-state area (Washington, Alaska, Montana, Idaho), resulting in a wealth of diverse clinical experience. Students may choose to complete their full-time placements elsewhere in the U.S. or even internationally. In recent years, UW audiology students have completed clinical rotations as far away as New Zealand. The program clinical practicum coordinator meets regularly with AuD students to assist them in selecting placement sites appropriate to their training goals and interests. The affiliated facilities provide services across the life span, from birth-to-three to geriatric populations. Local clinical placement options include: Medical Audiology Students completing clinical rotations in a medical environment see clinic outpatients as well as inpatients with complex medical histories, and interact with clinicians in affiliated fields from otolaryngology and vestibular testing to post-surgery cochlear implant mapping and assessment.
