AuD Program Fees
1) Tuition

Tuition for the Doctorate of Audiology program is comprised of two components:

  • University of Washington tuition
  • UW Educational Outreach (UWEO) instructional fees

Please note:

  1. Tuition and instructional fees are subject to change.

  2. Any tuition waivers awarded to students are applied ONLY to the University of Washington, state tuition component. These awards cannot be applied to UWEO instructional fees or University fees (see #2 below).

  3. For students who successfully attain "in-state" status, tuition is reduced to the out-of-state student rate beginning in the second year of the program. To learn more about this application process, please consults the following website: http://www.washington.edu/students/residency.html

  4. Tuition for the 4th year of the AuD program is reduced to approximately 50% of the previous year's in-state tuition and consists only of UWEO instructional fees. No University of Washington tuition is assessed for this year of the program.

2) University Fees
UW students are responsible for the following University fees:

  • Registration fee - A non refundable fee paid each quarter at time of registration.

  • Technology fee - This fee supports the improvement of technology used by students at the University of Washington campuses. The Student Technology Fee Committee determines the expenditure of this fee. Students at the UW lead the committee which allocates money for technology resources for general student use. The fee is paid quarterly.

  • Services & Activities (S&A) fee - This fee supports student activities and programs such as ASUW & GPSS Activities, Student Publications, Student Loan Fund, Hall Health Primary Care Center, recreational sports programs, childcare, student legal services, Ethnic Cultural Center and Student Union facilities. The fee is paid quarterly.

3) Departmental Fees
Speech & Hearing Sciences graduate students are responsible for the following mandatory fees:

Immunization fee – All graduate students are required to participate in the Health Sciences Immunization Program provided through the UW Medicine Hall Health Primary Care Center. This program requires students to complete a review of their immunization history at the University Immunization Clinic and obtain all required immunizations there, in order to ensure students and their clients are adequately protected. The one-time fee is paid at the start of the program.

Background check fee – Graduate students are required to complete and successfully pass a state and national background check as a condition of admission. The fee is paid prior to starting the program and the background check is valid for 2 years.
