Educating and preparing our Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology students to become exceptional clinicians requires both strong, foundational knowledge coupled with a wide variety of clinical experiences. Our mission is to create a clinical learning environment that provides a continuum of educational opportunities while focused on best practices in mentoring graduate students. This task is achieved through collaboration with a diverse network of community supervisors and facilities across the nation including schools, clinics, private practices, hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
The Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences has established affiliation agreements with over 200 facilities in order to provide quality practica and internship placements for our students. We partner with community sites and clinicians in the education of our graduate students and provide support to these individuals by way of complimentary continuing education, clinical associate opportunities, and honoraria for Washington state supervisors.
