How to Apply
Applying as a postbaccalaureate student is a two-part process. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure both the UW Office of Admissions and SPHSC receive the application packet by the deadline of February 13th . The two departments will not supply the other with any part of the required application materials. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Admission to SPHSC is contingent upon admission to UW.

Step One: Submit a completed postbaccalaureate application to the University of Washington, Office of Admissions. Indicate Speech and Hearing Sciences as the desired major and that you would like to be placed in the major at the time of admission to UW.

Step Two: Print and send a copy of the completed UW postbaccalaureate application, including the form, statement of purpose (i.e., tell us why you want to pursue a career in Speech & Hearing Sciences) and all college level transcripts, to the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences.

In addition, three (3) letters of recommendation must be sent to the department. The SPHSC recommendation form is preferred. However, a letter is acceptable in lieu of the recommendation form. Carefully read and fill out the top section of the recommendation form before giving it to your evaluator.
