Postbaccalaureate Program Fees
The Postbaccalaureate program is a fee-based or self-sustaining graduate program administered through University of Washington Educational Outreach (UWEO). Postbaccalaureate program students register for all coursework and pay the established program fees through UWEO on a quarterly basis. Students in the Postbaccalaureate program are eligible for the same student services as individuals in WA state funded programs.
1) Instructional Fees / Tuition
Unlike other academic programs at the University that are funded by the state of WA, different "in-state" and "out-of-state" tuition rates are not assessed for fee-based programs. Rather, there is an established instructional fee that students pay for the degree program no matter the individual's residency status. Please note that this instructional fee does not include the cost of textbooks or materials and is subject to change. In addition, completion of out-of-department requirements may result in additional tuition charges for students.
2) University Fees
UW students are responsible for the following University fees:
- Registration fee - A non refundable fee paid each quarter at time of registration.
- Technology fee - This fee supports the improvement of technology used by students at the University of Washington campuses. The Student Technology Fee Committee determines the expenditure of this fee. Students at the UW lead the committee which allocates money for technology resources for general student use. The fee is paid quarterly.
- Services & Activities (S&A) fee - This fee supports student activities and programs such as ASUW & GPSS Activities, Student Publications, Student Loan Fund, Hall Health Primary Care Center, recreational sports programs, childcare, student legal services, Ethnic Cultural Center and Student Union facilities. The fee is paid quarterly.

Financial Assistance
The department does not offer financial assistance to postbaccalaureate students but all admitted, matriculated students at the University of Washington are eligible for financial aid services. We encourage students to investigate sources of financial aid and submit financial aid applications as early as possible. Please contact the UW Financial Aid Office for more information and review the web sites below. Please be aware that the priority consideration deadline for financial aid is in February.
