How to Apply
Admission to the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences is competitive. The Admissions Committee reviews all applicants based on the following criteria:
  • 2.50 cumulative GPA, guarantees consideration but not admission
  • Personal statement
  • Other evidence of a commitment to becoming a Speech & Hearing Sciences major

Application guidelines:

  • Students may apply any time after they have earned 60 credits.
  • Applications are accepted all four quarters. Acceptance in a quarter other than Autumn may delay graduation.
  • Applications are due the third Monday of the quarter prior to the quarter of admittance.
  • Transfer students at or near junior standing may apply to the SPSHC Department and the University of Washington concurrently.
  • Admission to the department is contingent upon admission to the UW.
