Speech and Hearing Sciences (SPHSC) is the study of human communication and its disorders across the life span and the study of clinical processes to assess and treat communication disorders.
  
This program is appropriate for students with interests in neuroscience, physiology, basic science, healthcare, linguistics, education, and psychology, as well as students going on to clinical speech-language pathology or audiology careers.
  
SPHSC is not available as a minor.
       
Accreditation: The Department of SPHSC is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the professional organization for speech-language pathologists and audiologists.
