Biographical information
Bart Klika
completed his bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Montana in 2002. In Montana, Bart worked for an organization, The Partnership for Children, that provided
treatment for children diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder. As a group home staff member, Bart worked directly with the children preparing them to be placed into
foster, adoptive, kinship, or birth family homes. Bart also worked in the community as a treatment coordinator to support families in raising children diagnosed with
attachment disorders. Bart received his master’s degree from the University of Chicago in 2008. While in Chicago, Bart completed two separate internships. First, Bart
counseled adolescents who were at-risk for or who had developed substance use disorders. Second, Bart worked for an organization that provided counseling services for
children, adolescents, and their families. Bart was also a research assistant on the Infant and Child Development Project at the University of Chicago. His current research
interests include the prevention of child maltreatment and the promotion of positive development. Bart is interested in the early years of life (0-5) and the importance of
quality early attachment relationships. He has a developing interest in linking research with direct practice.
