| Your role: | You will participate once a week (or mor if you choose) in leading an activity table at the Pacific Science Center. You will guide students through a hands-on science activity encouraging all the students to use scientific inquiry. Your role is not to be an "expert" and have answers for all of their questions, but to work with them to discover answers - and more questions! During the first quarter you will learn about working with children, about applying the scientific process to the activities and about how to encourage children in their study of science. You will become familiar with the activities and review the science concepts used. Working closely with the site supervisor, you will tailor your role depending on your interests. PacSci has many available opportunities in child education and science inquiry from which you can choose your role. | |
