Giving Opportunities
We are a model for success in recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty and student body and for multi-cultural education. Our doctoral program is one of the best in the nation and our MSW program is ranked top 5 among 153 schools by U.S. News & World Report.
Private support enables the School of Social Work to:
- Provide fellowships for graduate students, to ensure educational opportunities for talented individuals who may otherwise have to sacrifice graduate training.
- Invest in the best faculty; individuals who advance knowledge, give life to new ideas, influence generations of students and shape the landscape of service delivery.
- Offer transformative experiential learning and field research that are part of the education and preparation of effective social work leaders, practitioners, and researchers.
Social Work Dean's Office has the following funding priorities:
- Social Work Students First Fund Social Work Students First Fund will provide need-based scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate students. By designating your gift to the School of Social Work Students First, you’re making a significant impact in the lives of those entering our field.
- Social Work Development Fund Gifts to this fund are used at the Dean’s discretion in order to recruit the best students, retain top faculty, sustain critical community programs, pursue innovative research and projects, and obtain state-of-the art equipment.
- Doctoral Excellence Fund This discretionary fund supports the general activities of the Doctoral Program which includes support for conference and training travel, special events, and dissertation research related expenses.
- Minority and Disabled Students Scholarship Fund Support for minority and disabled students or students who are interested in professional practice directly with or in underserved ethnic minority, disadvantaged and, where appropriate, disabled communities.
Your personal support of the students, faculty and our mission is deeply appreciated and it is important that you know every dollar donated will be used for the purposes specified.
