Congratulations to graduating students in the School of Social Work! The follow pages and links should help you navigate the UW and SSW deadlines and rules as well as plan for participation in graduation ceremonies. We will add more information to this site later this quarter.
Please note these important clarifications:
Commencement refers to the formal University ceremony held in Husky Stadium June 13, 2009, for all undergraduate and graduate student graduates from December through August of that academic year.
SSW Graduation Celebration refers to the School of Social Work celebration that takes place June 10, 2009, in the HUB Ballroom, three days prior to the UW Commencement. The program runs from 12:00 to 2:30.
Applying for the Degree refers to the paperwork or online process that formally notifies the University that you have fulfilled all academic requirements for the degree. BASW students apply through their adviser; MSW and PhD students apply through the Graduate School.
Master’s Students: Spring graduates must apply online for the degree by May 17 (the site opens on March 30):
