Research Interests:

  • Years ago taught two courses no longer taught in our department: Women 300 'Research Methods in Women Studies' and Women 374 'Methods in Life History Research.' Am considering developing a new version of 374, and it would be open to students outside of the department (as are all of our courses).
  • ethnohistory and personal life history of women in the American Southwest with emphasis on Northern Pueblo Indian womens lives; relationship of indigenous languages to land preservation issues; storytelling as means of preserving and restoring use of indigenous languages (includes use of indigenous placenames within stories), and as recounting ethnohistory of individuals and communities.
  • ethnography, ethnohistory, life and other oral history interviews
