Rehema Abdi Quoted Extensively in a University of Michigan Story about Intergroup Dialogue

Rehema Abdi, BASW '08, who was a facilitator in the Intergroup Dialogue, Education, and Action (IDEA) Center in the School of Social Work last year, is quoted extensively in a University of Michigan story about intergroup dialogue programs on campuses throughout the nation. Associate Professor Biren (Ratnesh) Nagda is the center's director.

You'll find the story at http://www.ur.umich.edu/0708/Jul28_08/00.php (Be patient; the story is long, and Rehema is quoted near the end.)

A related story about the multi-university Intergroup Dialogue Research Project (Dr. Nagda is Co-PI), which holds an institute to show universities how to start intergroup dialogue programs, is at http://www.ur.umich.edu/0708/Jul28_08/16.php. Six people from the University of Washington attended the institute July 23-26, where Dr. Nagda received a Founder's Award in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Program on Intergroup Relations at the University of Michigan.
