Alumna Janet Brodsky Managing UW Violence Prevention and Response Program

Janet Brodsky, MSW ’86, was named to the violence prevention and response program (VPRP) manager position for the University of Washington in September 2007.

“I truly feel that everything I have done so far in my career has led me to this moment, and I only hope to do justice to such a compelling and influential position,” Brodsky said before she assumed her new role.

“As the VPRP manager, I am coordinating many aspects of violence prevention and intervention on campus, responding to calls from all members of the University community who have questions about their or others’ safety, and refining components of a complex matrix of services and communication to enable proactive information exchange in times of threat.”

Brodsky also continues to coordinate the UW Certificate in Psychological Trauma program.
