Min Jung Kim Receives SSWR Doctoral Fellows Award
Doctoral student Min Jung Kim has received the 2008 Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR) Doctoral Fellows Award for her dissertation entitled Youth Violence Prevention: Social Development Model Approaches to Predicting and Preventing the Progression of Childhood Aggression into Youth Violence.
In the award letter, Dr. Allen Rubin, SSWR board member and awards committee chair, noted that Min’s research was “judged by members of the Society to be most deserving of this prestigious award. In conferring the award, the Society recognizes the significance of the problem addressed in your research, the rigor of the analysis, and its contribution to knowledge in social work and social welfare. The Society conveys the award with the expectation that you will continue to pursue excellence in research and knowledge development in social work.”
The award is being presented to Min at the Presidential Awards Ceremony on January 18 at the 2008 SSWR Conference in Washington, DC.
Congratulations to Min for this special honor as well as to her doctoral committee: Professors Rico Catalano (Chair), Tracy Harachi, and Emiko Tajima.
