Janice Sabin, PhD '06, Has New Appointment in School of Medicine
Janice Sabin has joined the School of Medicine, Department of Medical Education Biomedical Informatics at the University of Washington, as an acting assistant professor. Janice is working at the Center for Clinical and Epidemiological Research in the School of Medicine, which focuses on American Indian/Alaska Native health and wellness. In addition, she will continue to work with Assistant Professor Jennifer Stuber in the School of Social Work on a project titled Recovery and the Stigma of Mental Illness: A Study of Front-Line Workers in the Washington State Public Mental Health System.
In addition, Janice is developing a pilot project on which she is principal investigator, recently funded through the National Institutes of Health’s National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities, Research Center of Excellence. She plans to continue developing research exploring factors that lead to discrimination in health care, and to design clinical educational interventions across the health science disciplines, which are aimed at reducing inequitable treatment in health care.
