Currently Available Practicum Sites

Practicum Placement Data Forms (PPDs), submitted by agencies and updated twice yearly, describe the level of students requested (BASW, MSW Foundation, or MSW Advanced), the agency mission and population served, services offered, total number of available placements, types of learning experiences, financial aid offered, disability accommodations, transportation information, projected placement activities, available hours and days, and practicum instructor and agency contact information.

Current Practicum Placement descriptions are available in hard copy at the School of Social Work Library (ask for the Practicum Placement Data or PPD binder), or online via electronic reserves.

How to access current placement descriptions ONLINE via Electronic Reserves

• You will need a User Net ID and password, given to students with course registration materials;
• Begin by clicking on Electronic Reserves link below; then,
• Click Course level desired (Social Work 415=Bachelors Practicum; Social Work 524=Foundation MSW Practicum; Social Work 525=Advanced MSW Practicum); then,
• Scroll down to and click on "Electronic Course Materials"; then,
• Click on "Connect to this Title Online"; then,
• Enter User Net ID and Password; then,
• View sites listed alphabetically.

The agencies listed below have provided us with their website addresses, so that you may get further information on their organization, personnel, and programs, as well as learn about the types of agencies accepting students for placement. This is NOT a list of current practicum sites, but is a directory of agencies we have used frequently and have contacted regarding the possibility of current placement opportunities. If an agency below is not included in the Current Available Placement Site descriptions above, they have not submitted a request for students this year.

Availability of student placements at a site depends upon multiple factors, including an MSW available and able to supervise, the number of students already in placement, ability to meet student learning objectives, willingness to sign formal working agreements with the School, space issues, etc. As agency situations change frequently, your assigned Practicum Coordinator will have the most current knowledge of availabilities. Practicum Coordinators also regularly develop new placements, if a site can meet the above criteria; so that new opportunities are continually being created.
