The Application Deadline for Fall 2010
January 15, 2010
Elective courses provide the opportunity for students to take courses in areas of special interest. Courses may be selected from curriculum offerings related to particular intervention methods, fields of practice, intervention theories, social problems, populations, and research methods. Students may take advanced methods courses as electives in areas other than the student’s primary methods area. Students also have the opportunity to take relevant courses in other graduate programs and professional schools of the University. Three credits of external coursework may be included within the approved program of study. Based on individual request and review by the student’s consultant and the MSW program director, students may under some circumstances meet additional elective requirements through courses in other graduate programs, where offerings are consistent with the student’s learning plan. Students may also take elective courses from other programs as an overload.
