Registration Procedures

The Student Services office notifies students about the School's registration dates and procedures for each quarter. Students receive a registration packet via email approximately 5 weeks into a quarter with instructions for the following quarter. (Electronic copy here.) Printed copies are available for review in Student Services and the Social Work Library. Students use these materials for registration.

The School of Social Work's Registration Packet provides the most current course listings along with the days, times, and schedule line numbers of Social Work courses.

Web Registration

Students register via the Web on MyUW using their UW NetID and password (i.e., their Dante email account name and password) to access the MyUW page. Students register for classes by using the 5-digit schedule line number (SLN). For some courses, the SLN and a 5-digit faculty entry code (EC) are needed. Read the School's quarterly registration packet on specific information regarding faculty, courses, times, and access to courses with or without entry codes.

Registration Forms Required

Tutorials (600s), practica (research and teaching), and dissertation (800) credits must be approved on the appropriate forms (available online in the PhD Forms section) by the Director of the PhD Program prior to obtaining entry codes. The forms must include details about the substance of the course, tasks, and the written product to be evaluated. The completed forms must be submitted via email from the faculty mentor serving as the course instructor to the Assistant Director (kwilham@)at least one week before the beginning of the quarter. The Program Coordinator obtains the Program Director's approval and emails the student with approval and appropriate codes.

For registration problems and information please contact Roberta Aldrich, Student Services, 206-543-8617, sswstsrv@u.washington.edu. Students with disabilities are also asked to contact Roberta for registration assistance if needed.
Use the Academic Calendar (www.washington.edu/students/reg/calendar.html) for dates of Registration Periods I-IV, when tuition is due, holidays, final exam schedules, and other important information. It is the student's responsibility to adhere to the important deadline dates noted in the Time Schedule.
