A Guide to SSW's Visual Identity.

We recommend that all SSW Units and Affiliated projects follow these guidelines:

  • Incorporate a clear statement of affiliation and the SSW logo into the first page of their websites. This logo would either be the standard colors or be black on white (if that works better aesthetically).
  • Prominently place a statement of affiliation with the School of Social Work on all external documents, including articles and external reports.

Business Cards
We recommend that all business cards of our faculty and staff use the SSW logo.

Contact Mike Winans at 616-6707, mwinans@u.washington.edu, to order SSW business cards. They cannot yet be ordered online through Publication Services.

Correspondence Materials

  • Stationery and envelopes are all standardized with the new logo and font design and colors.
  • Where it is not cost effective to use a color version of the logo (as in mass mailings of correspondence), it is acceptable to use a black and white version of the logo. This can be done either via photocopying of letterhead or electronically inserting the logo into the document before printing.
  • Adaptations which creatively follow the spirit of these guidelines are encouraged. For example, a suggested adaptation with regard to mailing is to use a rubber return-address stamp with the logo added, to avoid the prohibitive cost of printing the logo on mailing labels.
