The departments of Statistics and Biostatistics at the University of Washington, together with colleagues in Genome Sciences, Biology, and Medicine, offer exciting opportunities for graduate study in Statistical Genetics.

  • Fall 2005: SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
    The Statistical Genetics faculty of the University of Washington welcome the arrival of new statistical genetics faculty. Especially, we welcome Dr. Bruce Weir, incoming chair of the department of Biostatistics, ex-officio member of the Advisory Board of the Statistical Genetics Interdisciplinary Certificate, and a well-known leader of the Statistical Genetics academic community.
  • A competition with a small monetary prize, to come up with a Certificate for our Certificate alumni: still open Fall 2005!!.
  • And we have fun! Photo of the "MathGen group", the Statistical Genetics Research Discussion Group in the Statistics Department in Spring 2003, and again in Fall 2005.
  • First official graduates of the Statistical PhD pathways in Statistics and Biostatistics, and of the Interdisciplinary Certificate Program, occurred in Summer, 2003.
