General and laparoscopic surgery; gastrointestinal surgery including pancreatic and biliary diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, and colorectal cancers; difficult and recurrent hernias; surgical infectious diseases; surgical critical care; bariatric surgery.
Research Interests:
Clinical trials in intra-abdominal infection, diagnosis and treatment of
severe sepsis, prevention of surgical infections, development of new antibiotics
and other biological anti-infective and immune-modulating biologic agents.
