About Seattle

Burn Fellowship

We are currently accepting applications from persons Board Eligible or Board Certified by the ABS or the ABPS.

The burn fellowship at Harborview Medical Center is a one year clinical fellowship with an additional optional one or two years of basic research. The burn fellow functions as a junior attending participating in all aspects of burn care.

He/she is responsible for overseeing the management of acutely burned patients, as well as planning the surgical strategy for these patients. The burn fellow participates in the excision and grafting of acutely burned patients. In addition, there is a wealth of experience in burn reconstruction, both early and late.

There is a invaluable clinic/outpatient experience. The burn fellow conducts his/her own clinic one afternoon a week following recently discharged patients and out patients. He/she also participates in a burn attending clinic once a week and in a clinic with Drs. Engrav and Klein, our reconstructive surgeons, once a week.

There is ample opportunity for basic science and clinical research. There are several large clinical trials being conducted at any given time.

The burn fellowship is designed to provide a wide range of experience in the acute and long-term care of the burned patient.
